Good puppy

Twig went with us to walk tonight. She was perfect with Keiffer! Even when he pulled at her ears she held still.

Keiffer boo

He is growing up super fast. Enough said.
Morning stroller-rides.
See his teeth? He has another one on top and another on top cutting in.
He's working on pulling himself up to a standing position alone. He got it here!
Hungry baby!
Table food. Steamed broccoli and tomato sauce. And then last night he had some brown rice and beef-mushroom stroganoff. We may be saying goodbye to baby food jars and using the food processor now. I sure hope so :)

Shootout

Steve and I shot our Ruger .380 pistol for the first time on Tuesday. I hit the 2&3.

Back on the bus

Steve and I are back on the church bus!
Visitation.
Coloring contest.
Mrs. Stearly is our driver's wife, and our bus worker. She is great with the kids, and helps with Keiffer, too.

Daddy time!

I'm going to Rachel Price's tonight with a few other ladies so Steve gets the monster!

Gods been good

Wow. Have you ever needed something small as a child, say one more piece of notebook paper for school, and your mom or dad walks in with a pretty spiral-bound notebook just then?
If so, you know the incredible feeling of love and care that I experience practically every day.
If I blogged about every single prayer request that Steve and I have seen answers in the past months you may well get bored with it. I never do.
Here's just two amazing ways God provided yesterday and today.
Did you know that this cup represents everything I've ever bought for my baby? (Barring the mandatory box of diapers each month, of course). Everything he's needed, from clothes to jars of baby food! he's been given free.
Last week I noticed that Keith had no socks. Little enough, right? But when we go for walks in the mornings his toes would get cold without them. Guess what Steve brought home from a coworker? A 30 gallon trash bag full of 18-24 month boy clothes and...about 15 pairs of socks, perfect fit.
There were also 3 onesies that will fit my growing baby! Which is just a bonus. Really, he has about 5 outfits right now, if I do laundry often that works fine, but those 3 extras were such a blessing.
NEXT:
This about sums up our life savings after bills are paid each month.
This particular month we have been praying for the money to order Steve's next semester of books. He's doing a three-year Graduate of Theology course at home. After scraping as hard as we could, we were still short $41.00. Just this afternoon I re-balanced the budget and guess what amount we had extra? $44.65! When I went to mail in his completed schoolwork, with the money to order next semester's books, the shopping cost was...$3.65. Isn't God good? Isn't he? MY God is amazing!!!!

A tutorial on dressing for winter: by Keith Westin

First, you find a really cute, funky hat.
Secondly, you place the hat on your head, careful to cover your ears completely.
Third, look at mommy for smiles and pose for a few pictures.
Fourth, find a coat.
Over here?
Oh yeah! Mommy has it!
Fifth, put the coat on and zip it up.
Nuts...now I can't move...
Does this outfit make me look fat?
Lastly, realize that it's a ridiculous 85 degrees outside and run to mommy with the hopes that she'll remove these clothes!!!!
And that's how we dress for winter in Florida :D

Mornings with Keiffer

Now that its gotten cooler I take Keith out for a stroll almost every day.
Either we go first thing in the morning, or Steve walks with us right after supper. We usually walk about three miles. Ha ha. I walk three miles and Keith practices being kingly in his chariot.

Never a dull moment

Going to drop Keith off at Mom and Dads we had an interesting stop.
Uh oh.
Oh wait!! Ha ha it's because our hazard lights were on. We had a flat and pulled off at an exit ramp. Before we even got out of the car two troopers pulled up to help us.
Trp. Khune and Trp. Horvath did all the work, too!
Little monster slept the entire time. Lucky ducky.

Homemade dog biscuits

I found a simple recipe for dog biscuits online. I tried it out on a few stray mutts that were hanging around our back porch and they loved them.
2 1/2 c oats, blended in processor til flour
1 egg
Pinch of salt
1/2 c hot water
1/2 t baking soda
1 T chicken stock
Handful of cheese, optional

Combine and add flour til it forms a soft ball. Roll out 1/2" thick and slice into squares. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. To get them crispy leave them in turned off oven got a few hours to cool.
Yeah? Yeah?
Sit. Stay.
Score!!
I actually tasted them. They taste like wheat thins-ish.

Bus stuffs

God provided us a permanent bus driver during the week of camp! We've been busy getting the necessary bus equipment together. For me, that meant getting cookie and candy tubs and re-drawing dozens of song sheets.
Some of our favorite songs...
I'm on the schedule to make bus cookies, too. And I like to make them as soon as Steve gets paid, and freeze them
Mmmmmmm!

Family camp

We didn't tent-camp this year. Instead we drove out each night, bringing a young couple with us. Trevor and Laurie got to know some of the church family in a whole new light as we ate together, roasted s'mores, played ladder ball and card games, and stayed up super late every night.
Cheeseball *'.'*

Keiffer teether

Keiffer decided to start cutting his top teeth right after the trip to KY.
He's such a cheese with the camera now :)
